Gideon
Gideon's Story: Gideon was rescued by Catherine’s grandmother/Tracey’s mother, Kay, originally. The exact date of his adoption is unknown but estimated to be around 2015. He was an adoptable animal at an animal hospital, and they simply described him as “old,” so his exact age is unknown. Gideon came to live at A Haven for Hope on June 8, 2020.
Anastasia
Anastasia's Story: Anastasia was originally found as a stray and brought to Hop to It Rabbit Rescue. She was then adopted and bonded to a rabbit named Moose. Unfortunately, she and Moose were then both returned to Hop to It because of their owner developing allergies to them. Hop to It was able to find them a new home again, but they ended up being moved around to different owners several times until they were surrendered at a humane society in early 2023. All of this moving around was unknown to Hop to It and is against adoption rules, since Hop to It and most other rescues require the animals to be returned to them if the owners can no longer care for the animals. Luckily, Anastasia and Moose were microchipped, and Hop to It were immediately notified of their presence at the humane society. Sadly, by the time Hop to It had come to pick them up, Moose had passed away despite a check-up by the humane society the day before. So, Anastasia returned to Hop to It alone until she came to A Haven for Hope.
Delilah
Delilah's Story: Delilah was relinquished to Border Tails Rescue as a young puppy. She spent months there with people loving how adorable she was. However, due to her need for diapers, she kept being overlooked and was not adopted. Even fosters were uncomfortable with having her due to her diapers. On June 3, 2023, Tracey went to meet her and fell in love instantly! She was the first resident of A Haven for Hope with an obvious disability, thus sparking the desire to focus on special needs animals.
Ursula
Ursula's Story: Ursula was rescued by NAWS in 2022. A kind person noticed some people doing something near a dumpster and then running away, so they decided to investigate what happened. This person found that the people had dumped Ursula and run away. Ursula was then brought to NAWS and fostered for about a year until Catherine decided to adopt her as one of the first official residents of A Haven for Hope!
